Expenses Covered under the Star Cardiac Care Health Insurance Policy

In case of both the Gold plan and Silver plan, the following expenses are covered under this star medical insurance plan. You can claim these expenses by informing the insurer 24 hours in advance if it’s planned.

Section 1: Hospitalization Cover

  • The insured is covered for inpatient hospitalization expenses when hospital admission is for more than 24-hours. It covers room cost, nursing and boarding charges, cost of the Surgeon, Anesthetist, Doctor, Specialist Fees, Consultants, OT, ICU, Oxygen, Blood, Diagnostics, Medicines and the likewise
  • Pre-Hospitalization expenses for a maximum of 30 days before hospital admission
  • Ambulance charges for emergency transportation up to the specified limits
  • Post-hospitalization expenses up to Rs 5,000 per hospitalization
  • All Day-care treatments can be claimed in this star mediclaim policy
  • Pre-existing Diseases and Illnesses can also be claimed if you continue the policy for more than 48 months

Section 2: Hospitalization Cover for Cardiac Ailments

Treatment-related to cardiovascular diseases is covered once the waiting period of 90 days is completed. This waiting period does not apply to renewals.

Section 3: Coverage for Outpatient Medical Expenses

Treatment cost incurred in any of the network hospitals in India are termed as Out-patient expenses, provided the policy is in force. The coverage limit is Rs 500 up to a maximum of Rs 1,500 per policy term. This benefit forms part of the Coverage amount.

Section 4: Personal Accident Cover

If anytime during the policy period, the Insured sustains any bodily injuries from an accident and leads to accidental death within 12 months from the date of the incident, then the insurance company will compensate up to the specified sum insured as mentioned in the policy documents. The coverage under this section is available worldwide. The sum insured is equal to policy coverage amount.

What About the Waiting Periods?

The applicable waiting period clauses are:
