Future Generali Future Advantage Top-Up is a highly effective, deductible-based top-up health insurance that aims to provide additional coverage at an affordable premium and supplements your existing insurance.  The individual can opt for higher Sum Insured, above a deductible limit. The deductible applies on an aggregate basis towards hospitalization and costs incurred during the policy period.

 Coverage Offered

In this particular Future Generali Health Insurance, the Sum Insured options range from Rs 50,000 to Rs 10000000. The high Sum Insured choices provide extra coverage at comparatively low premiums.

There are two different plans:

1.Supreme Plan: Covers for all ailments (heart-related conditions, and cancer included)

2.Elite Plan: Covers only heart-related conditions and cancer

The essential heads of expenditure covered by the Future Generali Future Advantage Top-Up Health Insurance are as follows:

  • In-patient Treatment: Room rent, nursing expenses for a minimum period of 24 hours, ICU Charges etc. are covered.
  • Other In-Patient Expenditure: Medicines, X-Rays, Drugs, Operation Theatre Charges, Consultants, Diagnostic Materials, Specialist fees etc. are covered.
  • Other Expenses: Day-care expenses, pre-hospitalization, and post-hospitalization medical expenses, and organ donor expenses are covered.
  • Additional Covers: Alternative treatments (Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, and Unani treatments are covered only after a waiting period of 24 months applicable from the beginning for the first Future Generali Future Advantage Top-Up), and emergency ambulance.

Inclusions of the Future General Future Advantage Top-Up Insurance Policy

Alongside the coverage mentioned above by Future General Future Advantage Top-Up Insurance Policy, the following heads are included:

  • The coverage for emergency ambulance expenses and alternative treatments are included in the plan.
  • There is the scope of savings when two or more family members are covered in the same policy (for the Individual Sum Insured option).
  • If the insured already has an existing Retail Health Insurance (apart from Future Generali Future Advantage Top-Up)from the same organization, there is a 2.5% savings scope.
  • Long-term savings of up to 10% is possible if there is an upfront premium payment for the long-term policy.
  • The insured has a benefit to convert this plan any indemnity health insurance for the same SI option.

Exclusions of the Future General Future Advantage Top-Up Insurance Policy

Exclusions under this particular Future Generali Health Insurance is of two kinds: permanent exclusions and those with waiting periods.

Waiting Periods

  • 30 days: For any illness, except accidental injury
  • 24 months: Pre-existing conditions, benign prostatic hypertrophy, internal congenital anomalies, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and surgery for prolapsed intervertebral disc unless because of an accident, hysterectomy, and any expenditure associated with alternative treatments.
  • 48 months: Any medical expenditure in connection with treatment for psychiatric illnesses, AIDS, or HIV etc.

Permanent exclusions are:

  • Congenital external illness/defect anomaly/disease
  • Illness or injury due to alcohol, narcotic substances, or drugs
  • HRT, sex alteration or sex change treatment
  • Illness or injury due to war, invasion, riots, unlawful and criminal activities

This policy can only be availed by an Indian national.


Cancellation of Policy

The policy comes with the provision of a free look period. After one receives the policy documents, the insured has 15 days within which he/she can opt for cancellation of the policy (only when no claims have been made). The individual is entitled to a refund following the policy terms.
