  • Policy can be taken for 1,2 or 3 years as per your convenience.
  • A family discount of 5% on the total premium is available.
  • Total of 5 varieties of options are provided to choose in terms of daily benefit amount- Rs. 500 Rs. 1000, Rs. 1500,Rs. 2000& Rs.2500.
  • Under Sec. 80 D of Income Tax Act the premium paid is exempt from Income Tax.

Universal Sompo Hospital Cash Insurance Policy at a Glance

  • Daily Benefit Amount- 5 options are provided- Rs. 500, Rs. 1000, Rs. 1500, Rs. 2000, and Rs.2500.
  • Coverage type – Individual as well as family.
  • Portability: If you are insured under any other health insurance policy of Non-life insurer you can transfer to Hospital Cash policy by Universal Sompo General Insurance with all your accrued benefits after due allowances for waiting periods.
  • Policy termination: Policyholder is allowed to terminate the policy at anytime by giving a 15 day written notice. In case no claim has been made under the policy, percentage of premium will be refunded.
  • Free look period: If you would not be pleased with the coverage, and terms and conditions of the policy, you have the option of cancelling the policy within 15 days of receipt of the policy documents, provided there has been no claim.

Exclusions in Hospital Cash Insurance by Universal Sompo

  • Contraction of any disease during the first 30 days of commencement of the policy.
  • Waiting period of 1 year from commencement of Policy for certain diseases like cataract, hysterectomy, etc.
  • Any illness or disease contracted due to intake of alcohol or other addictive substances will not be covered.
  • Any illness or disease due to war or invasion.

Documents Required to buy Hospital Cash Insurance Plan by Universal Sompo

An individual has to fill up an ‘Application form/ proposal form’ with accurate medical history along with the address proof. Medical examination may be required in some cases, based on the sum assured and the age of the person.
