IFFCO Tokio Comprehensive Bike Insurance vs Third-Party Insurance

Take a look at the major differences between IFFCO Tokio Comprehensive bike insurance and Third Party bike insurance plans below:

Features Comprehensive Two-wheeler Insurance Third-party Two-wheeler Insurance
Coverage Comprehensive two-wheeler insurance provides complete coverage to the policyholder against third-party liabilities and own damages caused by the insured bike during an accident. Third party two-wheeler insurance provides coverage for only the damages or injuries caused to the third party in an accident.
Legal Requirement Comprehensive two-wheeler insurance is optional. A customer can choose to purchase it as per his/her preferences. The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 has made it mandatory for every bike owner to purchase third party insurance cover.
Add-on Covers A comprehensive cover allows the bike owner to opt for several add-ons like zero depreciation cover, roadside assistance, etc. on payment of a higher premium in addition to the benefits provided under the base policy.  Third party bike insurance plans do not offer add-on covers.
Premium amount Since the coverage provided is more, the bike owner will also have to pay a higher premium for this policy. Because of limited coverage, the premium cost of third party two wheeler insurance is low.
