      ManipalCigna Hospital Cash policy provides financial assistance to meet day-to-day expenses incurred during hospitalization. It enables the insured to manage daily incidental hospitalization expenses that may not be covered under a regular health insurance policy.

      ManipalCigna Hospital Cash Policy Overview

      ManipalCigna ProHealth Cash policy provides a fixed hospital cash benefit to the insured for every 24 hours of continuous hospitalization arising out of a sickness or accident. It provides ICU benefit for each day of admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). It also offers convalescence benefit, compassionate benefit and companion benefit. 

      Moreover, the plan comes with optional coverage for day care procedures and accidental death & disability. The insured can also buy critical illness add-on cover that will provide coverage for 11 critical diseases.

      The ManipalCigna Hospital Cash policy comes with two plan types - Basic and Enhanced. The Basic plan offers sickness hospital cash benefit, accident hospital cash benefit and ICU cash benefit. On the other hand, the Enhanced plan offers one-time convalescence benefit, compassionate benefit and companion benefit along with the Basic plan coverage.

      The policyholder can opt for Rs 500 to Rs 5000 per day as the hospital cash benefit amount under the ManipalCigna ProHealth Cash policy. He/she can opt for hospital cash days of 60 days, 90 days or 180 days. However, the policy also comes with a deductible of one day of hospitalization.

      The ManipalCigna ProHealth Cash policy comes with the following features:

      • It comes with two plan types.
      • It provides worldwide coverage for accidental or sickness hospitalization.
      • It covers convalescence benefit, compassionate benefit and companion benefit.
      • It comes with the optional coverage for accidental death and disability
      • It comes with the option of day care treatment benefit.
      • It offers critical illness add-on cover for 11 diseases.
      • It offers access to an online wellness program.
      • It provides tax benefits under sec 80D, Income Tax Act.

      Inclusions of ManipalCigna Hospital Cash Policy

      The ManipalCigna Health Insurance Company Limited covers the following under the ProHealth Cash policy:

      • Sickness Hospital Cash Benefit - Offers a daily hospital cash benefit if hospitalized due to an illness
      • Accident Hospital Cash Benefit - Offers two times the daily cash benefit amount if hospitalized due to an accident
      • ICU Cash Benefit - Offers three times the hospital cash benefit amount for a maximum of 15 days if admitted to the ICU
      • Convalescence Benefit - Offers five times the hospital cash benefit amount if hospitalized for 10 or more consecutive days
      • Compassionate Benefit - Offers 10 times the daily hospital cash amount if the insured dies during accidental hospitalization
      • Companion Benefit - Offers 50% of the daily cash benefit amount for the person accompanying the insured

      Optional Covers:

      • Accidental Death and Permanent Total Disability Cover -Offers coverage ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 25,00,000
      • Day Care Treatment Cover -Offers five times the daily cash amount or Rs 25,000, whichever is lower, for a maximum of 5 day care treatments

      The ManipalCigna ProHealth Cash policy also comes with a critical illness rider with the sum insured ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,00,00,000 that will provide a daily cash benefit for hospitalization due to 11 critical diseases.

      Exclusions of ManipalCigna Hospital Cash Policy

      The ManipalCigna Hospital Cash policy does not cover the following medical expenses:

      • Dental treatment
      • Non-allopathic treatment
      • Birth control procedures
      • Cosmetic surgery except for reconstructive surgery
      • Sexually transmitted diseases, except HIV AIDS
      • Circumcision
      • Injury or illness arising out of drug or alcohol abuse
      • Routine medical check-ups and tests
