      Universal Sompo Hospital Cash insurance covers out of pocket expenses incurred by the insured during accidental or sickness hospitalization. It provides financial assistance to the policyholder against incidental hospitalization expenses that are usually excluded under regular health insurance plans.

      Universal Sompo Hospital Cash Policy Overview

      Universal Sompo Hospital Cash insurance policy provides a daily allowance to the insured for every day of hospitalization. It provides twice the hospital cash benefit amount in case the insured has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). It also offers a convalescence benefit in case the insured is admitted to the hospital for more than 21 days.

      The Universal Sompo Hospital Cash policy covers a hospital cash amount of Rs 500/1000/1500/2000/2500/3000 per day. It also comes with the hospital cash days of 15/30/45/60/90/180 days.

      • It also offers a fixed convalescence benefit of Rs 10,000.

      The Universal Sompo General Insurance Company provides the following coverage under the Hospital Cash insurance policy:

      • Hospital Confinement Benefit - Offers daily cash allowance to the insured in case of hospitalization
      • Intensive Care Benefit - Offers double the hospital cash benefit amount in case the insured is admitted to the ICU
      • Convalescence Benefit - Offers a fixed amount of Rs 10,000 in case the insured is hospitalized for more than 21 days

      Exclusions of Universal Sompo Hospital Cash Policy

      The Universal Sompo Hospital Cash policy does not cover the following medical expenses:

      • Alternate treatment
      • Pregnancy & childbirth-related claims
      • Dental treatment or surgery
      • Intentional self-injury or suicide
      • Participation in adventure sports
      • Injury/hospitalization due to consumption of liquor, drugs or other intoxicants
      • Cosmetic or plastic surgery
      • Venereal disease
      • Injury due to war or nuclear perils
