Zuno Health Insurance Portability option gives policyholders with other insurers, the choice of switching to one of the preferred Zuno health insurance plans. They can opt for a better plan without losing accrued benefits during the previous policy term. To utilize this option, policyholders should initiate the portability process around 45 days before their current policy expires.
The benefits of porting to a Zuno health insurance plan are discussed below:

Step 5: Policybazaar will send your portability request to Zuno General Insurance Company
Step 6: Zuno General Insurance Company will contact your existing insurance company for details like your claim history, medical documents, etc. This information is accessible on the IRDAI website as well.
Step 7: Your current insurer will provide the required information to Zuno General Insurance Company within 7 working days. If your insurance provider delays sharing the requested information, your portability application will get delayed.
Step 8: Within 15 days of document submission, the insurer will decide on the portability application. If it is not concluded in two weeks, the request will be accepted automatically.
Policyholders must submit these documents to port to a Zuno health insurance plan:
While porting to Zuno health insurance, the No Claims Bonus (NCB) accumulated under the previous policy works as per the next policy:
Scenario 1: For policyholders who opt for a Zuno health insurance policy with the same base sum insured, the waiting periods of the last policy are sufficient.
For example, Vinay has a health policy of Rs. 6 lakh with an NCB of Rs. 3 lakh. He intends to port to a Zuno health insurance plan with a sum insured of Rs 6 lakh. The waiting periods from the previous policy will remain; Vinay can avail of the coverage benefits without the need to serve fresh waiting periods.
Scenario 2: For policyholders who port to a Zuno health insurance policy with a sum insured equal to the combined base sum insured and NCB of the previous policy, the waiting periods of the previous policy will be acceptable.
For example, Vinay has a health policy of Rs. 6 lakh with an NCB of Rs. 3 lakh, and he wants to port to a Zuno health insurance plan of Rs. 9 lakh. Vinay need not serve any additional waiting period as the waiting periods from the previous policy add-up. The combined value of the base sum insured (Rs 6 lakh) and the NCB (Rs 3 lakh) matches the new policy’s base sum insured, i.e., Rs 9 lakh.
Scenario 3: For policyholders who choose a Zuno health insurance plan with a higher base coverage amount than their previous health policy’s base SI plus the NCB, the waiting periods are applicable for the additional coverage amount.
For example, Vinay has a health policy of Rs 6 lakh with an NCB of Rs 3 lakh, and he wants to port to a health insurance policy of Rs 12 lakh. The waiting periods served under the previous policy are sufficient for a coverage amount of Rs 9 lakh only, hence, Vinay has to serve the standard waiting period to claim the additional coverage of Rs 3 lakh.
