HDFC ERGO Optima Cash: Benefits
The benefits offered under the HDFC ERGO Optima Cash Insurance Plan are listed below:
- Childbirth Benefit If the insured or their dependent has a childbirth, they will be paid the entire amount equal to twice the daily cash reserve for maternity. The amount will be accessible after the passing of 2 years and will be paid twice within the lifetime of the insured individual.
- Tax Benefits Each time the insured pays the premium amount for the HDFC ERGO Optima Cash Insurance Plan, they are eligible for tax benefits under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act.
- Family Rebates The HDFC ERGO Optima Cash Insurance Plan offers the insured different discount options according to their policy purchase method. For example, if the insured has added two or more members of their family, then the insured will be provided with a 10% discount on the premium.
Inclusions of HDFC ERGO Optima Cash Insurance Plan
The following are the inclusions of the HDFC ERGO Optima Cash Insurance Plan:
- Sickness Hospital Cash - The HDFC ERGO Optima Cash Insurance Plan provides the insured with daily cash benefits in case of regular and ICU hospitalisation. The daily cash benefits for both standard and ICU hospitalisation are provided to the insured or their dependents after the completion of 24 hours. The daily cash benefit for the insured admitted into the ICU will be provided for up to 15 days each year the insurance is renewed.
- Accident Hospital Cash - The insurer ensures that the insured individual is paid daily cash for regular and ICU hospitalisation. The inclusion applies only when the insured or dependents are admitted for 24 hours. As mentioned for the sickness hospital cash inclusion, the insured or their dependents can avail of this for 15 days within the policy year.
- Day Care Procedure Cash - The insured will be eligible for 50% of the total daily cash amount if they undergo any daycare procedures. It is applicable only if they experience a procedure that does not require a 24-hour hospitalisation. Also, the benefit is payable for a maximum of six days.
- Joint Hospitalisation - If the insured or any of their dependents are involved in an accident together, they are provided twice the daily cash amount. It is provided for the entire duration of the hospitalisation along with the daily cash amount as specified in the Accident Daily Cash inclusion mentioned above. It is important to note that this benefit is provided for only 10 days within the policy year.
- Parent Accommodation - The HDFC ERGO Optima Cash Insurance Plan provides daily cash benefits if the insured is a minor below the age of 12 years. It has to be admitted into the hospital for more than 72 hours. This benefit is provided alongside the sickness or accident cash benefit explained earlier. Also, the benefit only applies up to 30 days within the policy duration.
- Convalescence - The convalescence benefit from HDFC ERGO Optima Cash Insurance policy is provided to the insured only when they are hospitalised for more than 7 days. It can be availed with the sickness/ accident hospital cash benefit explained above. However, the convalescence benefit can be availed only once within the policy year.
HDFC ERGO Optima Cash: Exclusions
The following are the exclusions of the HDFC ERGO Optima Cash Insurance policy:
- Any treatment required due to war, invasion or similar actions.
- Treatment required due to injury caused by self-injury or hazardous sports.
- Treatments needed for any form of substance abuse or alcoholism.
- Weight loss or bariatric surgery procedures.
- Cosmetic procedures purely for aesthetic purposes.
- Any general debility or exhaustion.
- Any form of assisted reproduction.
- Any Dental treatment or surgery.
- Unproven treatments.
- Diagnostic expenses unrelated to the current diagnosis.
- Expenses related to mandatory bed rest.
- Congenital diseases or health issues.
