There are several important documents to be submitted when the policyholder registers a claim. They are as follows:

  • Hard copy or soft copy of insurance policy document
  • Registration certificate of the bike
  • Driving license
  • Signed insurance claim settlement form
  • FIR copy if the accident involved severe injury or a third party
  • PUC (Pollution under Control) certificate
  • A PAN card copy is needed if the claim amount is Rs 1 lakh or more
  • Signed receipt and bills in case of a reimbursement claim

Universal Sompo Bike Insurance Cashless Claim Process

The steps included while applying for a cashless Universal Sompo bike insurance claim are as follows:

Step 1: Intimate the insurer about the incident. Include details like the area where the accident happened and the damages caused. You can approach the insurer through the customer service number.

Step 2: The insurer will appoint an inspector or a surveyor to assess the situation and investigate the accident. He will identify the cause of the accident and go through the damage. He will then submit an assessment report to the insurer to price the claim.

Step 3: The policyholder can drop his two-wheeler to any of the closest Insurer garages that the company authorizes. The insurer is also liable to provide charges for towing the vehicle for the insurance holder to a nearby authorized garage.

Step 4: The insurance holder will directly pay the garage's expenses. After this, the two-wheeler can be taken home from the garage once the repair is done.

A reimbursement claim is made when the insurer has to pay for the insured's two-wheeler for repairs done at a garage, not on the insurer's network. The process for Universal Sompo reimbursement bike insurance claim includes:

Step 1: You can inform the insurer about the incident and its details through the customer care toll-free number.

Step 2: Universal Sompo General Insurance Company will appoint an inspection to proceed with an assessment. The inspector will confirm the facts about the accident and the damages that occurred to the insured's two-wheeler.

Step 3: The insurance holder can access free towing through the insurer to drop the two-wheeler at a nearby garage that is not on the insurer's network. You need to pay for the entire damage repair and other maintenance. You can keep the receipt or any bills to later submit to the insurer for reimbursement.

Step 4: The insurer can apply for reimbursement after deductions of volunteer deductibles. The insurer will accept the claim and reimburse the expense after the necessary deduction, including the voluntary deductible.

Common Rejection Reasons for Universal Bike Insurance Claim

Universal Sompo General Insurance Company can reject an insured's claim application for the below-mentioned reasons:

  • If the insurance holder had an accident while driving without a proper license
  • Driving after consumption of drugs or alcohol

Universal sompo two wheeler insurance is nice with low premiums. The policy coverage is high ~87% and the policy claims are even better. The service facilitate by the executives and staff is really very fast by which claiming procedure get easy.
