      Oriental Health Insurance Waiting Period is the amount of time that policyholders are required to wait before filing a claim with the Oriental Insurance Company. It differs for various diseases & medical procedures and varies from one Oriental health insurance plan to another. However, no waiting period needs to be served to file an accidental claim with the insurer.

      Types of Oriental Health Insurance Waiting Period

      Here are the various types of waiting periods applicable to Oriental health insurance plans:

      1. Oriental Health Insurance Pre-existing Disease Waiting Period

        This waiting period needs to be served to claim the medical expenses incurred on the treatment of PED or pre-existing diseases, such as high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, asthma, etc.

      2. Oriental Health Insurance Specified Disease/Procedure Waiting Period

        The insured should serve this waiting period to pay for the cost of specified diseases and medical procedures, such as PCOD, osteoporosis, cataract, varicose veins, calculus disease, etc.

      3. Oriental Health Insurance Initial Waiting Period

        This type of waiting period must be served to file a health insurance claim for non-accidental hospitalization of the insured.

      4. Oriental Health Insurance Maternity & Newborn Baby Expenses Waiting Period

        Policyholders need to serve this type of waiting period to claim delivery, lawful termination of pregnancy and newborn baby expenses under their maternity insurance policy.

      5. Oriental Health Insurance Critical Illness Waiting Period

        This type of waiting period should be served to claim a critical illness insurance policy and pay for the treatment of a critical illness.

      6. Oriental Health Insurance Hypertension and Diabetes Waiting Period

        Policyholders must serve this waiting period to pay for the treatment cost of hypertension and diabetes.

      7. Oriental Health Insurance Cardiac Conditions Waiting Period

        This type of waiting period needs to be served to claim the medical expenses resulting from cardiac conditions of the insured.

      8. Oriental Health Insurance Assisted Reproduction Treatment Waiting Period

        The insured should serve this waiting period to cover the cost of undergoing various assisted reproduction treatments.

      9. Oriental Health Insurance Organ Donor Benefit Waiting Period

        This type of waiting period must be served by the insured to claim the lump sum benefit available on donating an organ for a transplant surgery.

      10. Oriental Health Insurance Cancer Care Waiting Period

        The insured needs to serve this waiting period to claim the cancer insurance policy and pay for the treatment of cancer.

      11. Oriental Health Insurance Pre-existing Disability Cover Waiting Period

        This waiting period should be served to pay for the medical expenses incurred on the treatment of a pre-existing disability of the insured.

      Is It Possible to Reduce the Oriental Health Insurance Waiting Period?

      Yes. Policyholders can reduce the waiting period for pre-existing diseases with the Pre-existing Disease Waiting Period Buyback Option under the Oriental Sampoorna Swasthya Suraksha plan. However, this benefit is available only by paying an additional premium.

      *₹762/month is the starting price for ₹ 1 Crore Health insurance for a 30 year old male & 29 years old female, living in Delhi with no pre-existing diseases

      *₹243/month(₹ 8/day) is the starting price for a 5 lakh health insurance for a 20-year-old male, non-smoker, living in Bengaluru with no pre-existing diseases

      *₹2020/month is the starting price for ₹ 1 Cr Health insurance for a 50 year old male & 50 years old female, living in Bangalore with no pre-existing diseases rounded off to nearest 10.

      *₹390/month (₹13 per day) is starting price for 1 cr. Health insurance for 25 years old male, with pre-existing diseases, residing from tier 1 city rounded off to the nearest 10.

      *No medical tests are required unless requested by the insurer’s underwriter. In-case of pre-existing diseases relevant medical proof would be required as per the terms and condition of the policy opted.

      *The values taken for effective cost calculation are indicative values and may change as per the selected plan.

      *Coverage upto double the amount of Sum Insured is available on certain covers for a minimum plan of Rs. 5 Lakh on the first claim only to an individual of upto 45 years of age with no pre-existing diseases. The benefit is available with or without extra cost depending on the plan chosen.
