An e-challan in Delhi is an electronically generated traffic violation ticket issued by the Delhi Traffic Police.Traffic violations are recorded by automated devices such as cameras or traffic sensors. E-challans are also issued if a Delhi Traffic Police personnel has manually observed a traffic violation. The e-challans are a digital replacement for traditional paper challans. With e-challans, the process of issuing and paying traffic fines becomes transparent and easy. An e-challan has a validity period of three months. The penalty should be paid within this time. Violators who do not pay their e-challan fine within 3 months may get their driving licence suspended.
