      United India health insurance claim settlement ratio reflects positively on the insurer’s ability to pay claims, which makes it a great choice to buy medical insurance. The higher is the claim settlement ratio, the higher are the chances of your claim getting paid by the insurer. Every health insurance company has a different claim settlement ratio, and it is advisable to check it before choosing a policy.

      The United India Insurance enjoys a claim settlement ratio of 94.5% for FY 2021-22. This implies that insurer settles most of the claims it receives and ensures an efficient claim settlement procedure.

      Claim Process of United India Health Insurance

      United India Insurance policyholders can apply for either cashless claims or reimbursement claims. Take a look at the process to file both types of claims below:

      Claim Process for Cashless Treatment:

      Cashless medical treatment can only be availed at a network hospital of United India Insurance. Here are the steps that you can follow to file a cashless claim:

      • Inform the insurer about your planned hospitalization in advance. In case of emergency hospitalization, you need to notify the insurer within 24 hours of getting admitted to the network hospital.
      • After getting admitted to the hospital, you need to fill, sign and submit the pre-authorization form to the hospital, who will send it to the insurer’s TPA.
      • The TPA will verify the documents and approve the cashless treatment request.
      • During discharge, pay for the expenses not covered by the insurer.
      • The insurer will pay the bill amount to the hospital after your discharge.
      • For post-hospitalization claims, submit all the required documents within 7 days of availing the treatment.

      Claim Process for Reimbursement:

      Follow the steps mentioned below to file a United India health insurance reimbursement claim:

      • Send a written intimation about your planned treatment to the insurer’s TPA or at the nearest branch. In case of an emergency hospitalization, inform the insurer within 24 hours.
      • Obtain the treatment and pay all the hospital bills when getting discharged from the hospital.
      • After getting discharged, you must collect all your documents from the hospital, including medical investigation reports, hospital discharge summary, etc.
      • Submit all the required documents in original at the TPA’s office within 7 days of hospital discharge.
      • The insurer will review your documents and pay the claim amount to you.
      • Pre and post-hospitalization expenses can be claimed by submitting all the documents within 7 days of receiving post-hospitalization treatment. 

      Documents Required for United India Health Insurance

      United India health insurance claims need to be supported with the following documents:

      • Duly filled and signed claim form
      • Doctor’s certificate 
      • Hospital discharge summary
      • Final hospital bills and payment receipts
      • Diagnostic and laboratory reports with bills
      • Pharmacy bills
      • Doctor’s prescriptions
      • Receipt, bills, sticker of the Implants
