UNI Criticare
Introduction: This policy covers specific critical illnesses, which are excluded in normal health plans. It provides lump sum payment incase insured is diagnosed with one of the critical ailments. Any person between 21-65 years is eligible to purchase UNI Criticare.
Key Benefits:
- Flexibility to choose from various sum insured options i.e. Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 3 lakh, Rs. 5 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh.
- Waiting period of 90 days from the date of inception of the policy
- Survival period of 30 days from date of diagnosis
Coverage:
Following are the 11 critical illnesses covered by the policy:
- First heart attack
- Heart valve replacement
- Cancer of specified severity
- Kidney failure
- Coma of specified severity
- Coronary artery surgery
- Major organ transplant or bone marrow transplant
- Permanent paralysis of limbs
- Multiple sclerosis
- Stroke resulting in permanent symptoms
- Motor neurone disease with permanent symptoms
Exclusions:
The policy does not cover critical illnesses caused due to following reasons:
- Attempted suicide or
- Alcohol or drug abuse
- Disease caused due to HIV/AIDS infection
- Contamination by radioactivity from nuclear waste
