United India Critical Illness Policy

UNI Criticare critical illness policy covers 11 critical illnesses, as defined in the policy wordings, and provides lump sum payment in case the policyholder is diagnosed with one of the listed critical illnesses for the first time during the policy period. Individuals between the age group of 21 and 65 years can be covered under this critical illness policy.

Features and Benefits

The policy sum insured option ranges from Rs 1 lakh, Rs 3 lakh, Rs 5 lakh, and Rs 10 lakh.

There is a waiting period of 90 days from the policy inception date and a 30-days survival period is required from the date of diagnosis.

You also get a free-look period of 15 days from the policy inception date and you can review your policy suitability during this period

The premium that you pay for self, spouse, dependent children, and dependent parents can provide tax exemption under Section 80D of the Income-tax Act.

  • Cancer of specified severity
  • Heart attack ( first with specified severity)
  • Heart valve replacement
  • Coronary artery surgery (CABG)
  • Open chest CABG
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Motor neurone disease with permanent symptoms
  • Kidney failure
  • Permanent paralysis of limbs
  • Stroke with permanent symptoms
  • Major organ transplantation
  • Coma of specified severity
