      The Star Cancer Care Platinum Insurance policy provides coverage to people diagnosed with cancer of any stage. It covers the medical expenses incurred in the treatment of cancer, including hospitalization, rehabilitation & pain management, day care procedures, etc. The policy also pays a lump sum amount to the policyholder for reoccurrence, metastasis and unrelated malignancy to the first cancer.

      Cancer of All Stages Covered

      The Star Cancer Care Platinum plan provides coverage to the policyholder for all stages of cancer. 

      Coverage for Recurrence/Metastasis/Second Cancer

      Policyholders can claim this policy for unrelated second cancer as well as for recurrence and metastasis of cancer. However, this coverage is optional and available on the payment of an extra premium amount.

      Hospice Care

      Advanced-stage cancer patients require specialized care. The Hospice Care benefit ensures that critical cancer patients can get that special care to live the last days of their life comfortably.

      Wellness Service

      The plan offers multiple wellness services, including a diet & nutrition program, weight management program and teleconsultation with a specialist, to promote a healthy lifestyle amongst policyholders.

      Cumulative Bonus

      A cumulative bonus of 5% is granted to the policyholder for every claim-free year for up to a maximum of 50%. This bonus can be used to increase the sum insured amount without paying a higher premium.

      Cashless Hospitalization

      The plan offers cashless hospitalization facilities to the insured at over 12000 network hospitals of Star Health & Allied Insurance Company across India.

      No Pre-Medical Tests Required

      People interested in buying this Star Health Insurance policy do not have to undergo any pre-medical screening. However, they do have to submit their previous medical records at the time of buying the policy. 

      Tax Benefits

      Policyholders can claim tax deductions on the premium paid for the Star Cancer Care Platinum Insurance policy under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act.

      What is Covered by Star Cancer Care Platinum Insurance Policy?

      A Star Cancer Care Platinum Insurance policy covers the following medical expenses:

      • In-patient Hospitalization Expenses – It covers the cost of hospitalization undertaken for at least 24 hours, including single standard AC room charges, ICU charges, doctor’s fees, etc.
      • Ambulance Charges – It pays for emergency road ambulance charges used to transport the insured to the hospital.
      • Pre-hospitalization Expenses – It covers any pre-hospitalization expenses incurred for up to 30 days before hospital admission.
      • Post-hospitalization Expenses – It covers post-hospitalization expenses incurred for up to 60 days after getting discharged from the hospital.
      • Day Care Procedures – It covers the cost of all day care procedures that use advanced technology and do not require hospitalization for 24 hours.
      • Cataract Treatment – It pays for the cost of cataract treatment for up to Rs 40,000 per eye depending on the sum insured.
      • Health Check-up – It covers the cost of a health check-up for a maximum of Rs 2500 for every claim-free year.
      • Medical Second Opinion – It provides the facility of obtaining a second medical opinion from a doctor listed with Star Health & Allied Insurance Company.
      • Rehabilitation and Pain Management – It covers the medical expenses incurred by the insured on rehabilitation and pain management.
      • Modern Treatments – It covers the cost of availing 12 modern treatments, including oral chemotherapy, stem cell therapy, robotic surgeries, etc.
      • Hospice Care – It pays for the cost of providing specialized care to cancer patients at an advanced stage once in the lifetime of the policy.

      Optional Cover:

      • Lump Sum Cover for Cancer – It covers the treatment cost of metastasis or recurrence of cancer. It also covers the cost of treating a second malignancy, which is unrelated to the first cancer.

      What is Not Covered by Star Cancer Care Platinum Insurance Policy?

      The following expenses are not covered under a Star Cancer Care Platinum Insurance policy:

      • Non-allopathic treatments
      • Dietary supplements and substances
      • Cosmetic or plastic surgery
      • Unproven treatments
      • Maternity expenses
      • Sterility & infertility 
      • Intentional self-injury
