      United India Arogya Sanjeevani Policy offers comprehensive insurance coverage in times of health emergencies. This is a standard policy launched by IRDAI and roll out by all insurance providers across India with common insurance terms.

      Coverage Offered

      Under United India Arogya Sanjeevani Policy, the Individual and Family Floater options offer sum insured options ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.

      The coverage provided is as follows:

      Hospitalization Expenses:

      • Room rent, boarding, nursing till 2% of sum insured (up to Rs 5000 per day)
      • Intensive care treatment till 5% of the sum insured (up to Rs 10,000 per day)
      • Consultation and specialist charges of a medical practitioner, surgeon, anesthetist
      • Costs for blood, oxygen, operation theatre, surgical equipment, prescribed drugs, diagnostics

      Pre-hospitalization- Coverage of medical expenses up to 30 days before admittance in the hospital are covered.

      Post-hospitalization- Medical expenses incurred up to 60 days following discharge are covered.

      Daycare Treatment- Any medical procedure requiring less than 24 hours of admittance is covered by the policy.

      For the following (under daycare or hospitalization), 50% of the sum insured will be offered –

      • High intensity focused ultrasound and uterine clots
      • Immunotherapy (monoclonal antibody)
      • Robotic surgery and stereotactic radiosurgery
      • Oral chemotherapy
      • Bronchial thermoplasty
      • Laser treatment for prostate
      • Intraoperative neuro-monitoring

      Inclusions of the Plan

      In addition to the aforementioned coverage, the following are included under the United India Arogya Sanjeevani Policy insurance policy:

      • AYUSH Treatment- If the insured and/or family undergo treatment by Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy systems in any AYUSH network hospital, it will be covered by the policy.
      • Cataract Treatment- Expenses under cataract therapy (for each eye) will be included in the policy, up to Rs 40,000 or 25% of the sum insured (the lower amount) in a single policy year.
      • Emergency Ambulance- Road ambulance charges will be covered up to a limit of Rs 2000 per hospitalization.
      • Dental Treatment- Treatment for any dental ailment (by illness or injury) is covered.
      • Plastic Surgery- Plastic surgery, due to illness or injury, is covered.

      Exclusions of the Plan

      The following are excluded from the list of coverage as per the terms of United India Arogya Sanjeevani Policy:

      • Any diagnostics or evaluation not related to the ailment under coverage
      • Hormonal therapy and gender reassignment surgery Injuries from adventure sports
      • Treatment for alcohol and drug addiction and/or abuse
      • Maternity expenses (childbirth and/or miscarriage)
      • Injuries sustained from war, riots, terrorist activity, etc.
      • Exposure to nuclear or biological radiation
      • Domiciliary and outpatient treatment
      • Treatment taken outside India

      Features & Benefits of the United India Arogya Sanjeevani Policy insurance policy

      Features and benefits of the United India Arogya Sanjeevani Policy insurance policy:

      • Pre-existing diseases have a waiting period of 48 months.
      • Except for accidents, claims are excluded in the first 30 days of the policy.
      • Other waiting periods are 24 months (planned surgery or tumor removal) and 48 months (joint disorders).
      • Premium deducted by ECS for monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly payments.
      • Premium payment is subject to tax exemptions under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

      Information on Cancellation of the Policy

      Cancellation of United India Arogya Sanjeevani Policy Health insurance takes place in the following conditions -

      • In the event of objections with policy terms, the insured can return the premium within 15 days (free look period) with no losses. This results in a policy cancellation.
      • Any misreporting of facts affecting policy terms can result in immediate termination.
