However, the policyholder does not have to serve any waiting period to file an accidental claim with the insurance company.

      Here are the various types of waiting periods that apply to Bajaj (Formerly known as Bajaj Allianz) health insurance plans:

      1. Bajaj Health Insurance Pre-existing Diseases Waiting Period

        This waiting period should be served to claim the medical expenses incurred on the treatment of pre-existing diseases (PED), such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, obesity, etc.

      2. Bajaj Health Insurance Specified Disease/Procedure Waiting Period

        The insured must serve this waiting period to claim the treatment cost of specified illnesses/procedures, such as cataracts, mental illnesses, chronic kidney disease, Alzheimer’s disease, joint replacement surgery, etc.

      3. Bajaj Health Insurance Initial Waiting Period

        This type of waiting period needs to be served to raise a health insurance claim for accidental injuries of the insured.

      Yes. The waiting period for pre-existing diseases can be reduced from 3 years to 2 years or 1 year by opting for the Change in PED Waiting Period benefit under the Bajaj My Health Care plan. Similarly, the specific disease waiting period can be reduced from 2 years to 1 year by opting for the Change in Specific Disease Waiting Period benefit under this plan. However, these benefits can be availed on payment of an additional premium.

      Moreover, the Bajaj My Health Care plan allows policyholders to reduce the waiting period for maternity cover and newborn baby cover by 1 year if the policyholder opts for a long-term policy.
