How to File a Cashless Bike Insurance Claim for Shriram Bike Insurance?

  • Step 1: Inform the Insurer: To file the Shriram bike insurance cashless claim, the policyholder should inform the insurer as soon as the accident, theft, or damage happens to the bike. In case of any injury or damage to the third party or theft of own vehicle, an FIR should be filed immediately. At the time of claim intimation to the insurer, the policyholder needs to provide this information:
    • Policy number
    • Description of an incident
    • Estimated loss
    • Contact details of the Insured
    • Date and time of an incident
    • Place of an accident where the survey can be done.
  • Step 2: Inspection by the Surveyor: The insurance company will appoint a surveyor to assess the damage that happened to the insured bike or the third party's bike. The surveyor will report estimates of repairs and collect duly filled claim forms and relevant documents.
  • Step 3: Vehicle repair: After the surveyor had assessed the damage and sent his report to the insurance company, the bike can be taken to the nearest garage, which is under the insurer's network, for repairs.
  • Step 4: Claim Settlement: All bills of repair and any required documents will be submitted to the insurance company, and the company will bear all expenses. The policyholder will have to pay compulsory deductibles.

How to File Reimbursement Bike Insurance Claim for Shriram Bike Insurance?

  • Step 1: Contact the Insurer: The policyholder has to inform the insurer as soon as possible about the incident if any damage occurred out of an accident, damage to the third party, or theft of the own vehicle. The information about date and time, estimated loss, policy number, and contact details must be shared with the insurer.
  • Step 2: Visit by the Surveyor: A surveyor will be sent from the insurance company to inspect the place of the incident and the damage incurred. Based on that, he will prepare the report, estimate the repair cost, and submit it to the insurance company.
  • Step 3: Vehicle Repair: After the surveyor has inspected the site and given his approval, the insured can choose the garage at his convenience. After repairing the vehicle, all bills and repair receipts will be submitted to the insurance company for reimbursement.
  • Step 4: Claim Settlement: The insurance company will check all documents, receipts, and bills and disburse all amounts, excluding necessary deductibles.

Common Bike Insurance Claim Rejection Reasons

Sometimes it is seen that despite filing the claim with all documents, it gets rejected. Here are few reasons for insurance claim rejection:

  • The bike insurance claim gets rejected if someone was riding it without a valid license when the accident occurred.
  • The insured would get the claim based on the policy he opts for; misinterpretation of claim coverage would lead to a claim rejection.
  • The policyholder might not be eligible to file an insurance claim if he was involved in illegal acts- drunk driving, talking on the phone while driving at the time of an incident.
  • Sometimes the company may reject the insurance claim if they are not provided with correct, updated information.
