    This policy is offered in the following four variants. Their sum insured and coverage benefits vary accordingly:

    • Smart Traveller Student - Standard
    • Smart Traveller Student - Silver

    Inclusions under the Bharti AXA Smart Traveller Insurance for Students

    The following are the inclusions under this overseas student travel insurance plan:

    • All the medical expenses including repatriation and emergency medical evacuation.
    • Reimbursement of actual expenses in case of loss of passport, travel documents, trip delay or cancellation.
    • Compensation for any acute anesthetic dental treatment
    • Compensation for delay or loss of checked-in baggage.
    • Reimbursement of the tuition fees in case of study interruption
    • Daily allowances in the cases of hospitalization.
    • The insurer will provide reimbursement for the round trip ticket, stay expenses for a compassionate visit in case the insured is hospitalized for more than seven days.
    • The policy will pay for the costs incurred by the insured for their legal representative who was involved in third-party claim settlements in case of death or disability
    • The policy will compensate towards the damages paid to the third party for any injury, property damage or death caused to them.
    • Provides for payment of bail amount on behalf of the Insured if they are arrested or detained by the police for any bailable offence whilst abroad.

    Exclusions Under the Bharti AXA Smart Traveller Insurance for Students

    In certain cases, this plan will not offer any benefits. The following are some of the exclusions under Bharti AXA Smart Traveller insurance for students:

    • Partial loss of the items contained in the checked-in-baggage.
    • If travelling against the advice of the attending physician
    • Expenses incurred during any cosmetic surgery unless rendered necessary due to medical treatment
    • Naturopathy or any other non-allopathic treatment
    • Loss of passport or documents whilst left unattended in a public place or not reported to police within 24 hours.
    • Claim arising out of terrorist activities.
    • Injury sustained whilst participating in hazardous activities/sports.
    • Any pre-existing condition except in the case of a life-threatening situation.
    • Any event where the insured is under the influence of liquor or drug

    Bharti AXA Smart Traveller Insurance for Students Eligibility Criteria

    This policy can be purchased by any student between the age of 16 and 40 years, given that they will be pursuing academic courses in an institute outside India. The duration of this policy can be 30 days at minimum and 2 years at most, with options of extending it under certain circumstances.
