Care Joy is a maternity health insurance plan with minimal exclusions and unique features such as no lower or upper cap on the entry age, inbuilt maternity and newborn benefits and many more. It is available in two variants- Joy Today and Joy tomorrow. Both the variants have the same feature the only difference is the waiting period for maternity cover i.e. 9 months and 24 months respectively.

Eligibility Criteria        

The eligibility criterion to buy this policy is minimum 18 years and maximum 45 years.

Inclusions of Care Health Insurance for Maternity

  • Hospitalization Expenses: In-patient hospitalization expenses, including surgical operations, nursing care, doctor’s fees, operation theatre charges, ICU charges, pathology, x-rays, diagnostic tests, prosthetic implants, etc.
  • Pre & post hospitalization Cover: The expenses are covered for 30 days and 60 days respectively 
  • Maternity Cover: The policy covers maternity-related hospitalization expenses incurred during the normal or cesarean delivery
  • Prenatal and Post-natal Expenses: Both are also covered up to Rs 35,000 for SI of Rs 3 Lakh and up to Rs 50,000 for SI of Rs 5 Lakh
  • New-born Baby Cover: Joy covers the medical expenses of your new born from birth till the completion of 90 days. After the completion of 90 days, the baby would be covered under a regular health plan by paying extra premium
  • Daycare Treatment: Daycare expenses are covered as well

Exclusions of Care Health Insurance for Maternity

Claims are not permissible for the following medical expenses:

  • Expenses incurred on infertility and in-vitro fertilization
  • Non-allopathic treatments
  • Congenital diseases
  • Expenses arising out of or attributable to alcohol or drug use/misuse/abuse
  • Medical care required due to self-inflicted injuries, suicidal attempts, etc.
  • Dental treatment and cost of contact lenses/spectacles is also not covered
