You can pay your road tax online through the official Parivahan Sewa portal. Select 'Andaman and Nicobar' under the ‘Vehicle-related Services’ section, insert your vehicle registration number, and complete the payment using a preferred payment mode.

The frequency of road tax payment in Andaman and Nicobar depends on the aspects of your vehicle. While vehicles used for personal activities are taxed on a one-time basis, commercial vehicles attract an annual tax in Andaman.

Failure to pay the road tax on time results in a penalty that can go up to 50% (half) of the total tax amount due. The final penalty figure is calculated by the taxing officer at the Directorate of Transport.

It mostly depends on what your vehicle costs at the showroom. For private cars and bikes, if your vehicle costs up to ₹4 lakhs, the tax is 1% of that price. If it costs more than ₹4 lakhs, the rate goes up to 2%. If you’re registering a commercial vehicle, the calculation is based on how many people it seats or how much weight it’s designed to carry.

When you pay the one-time or lifetime tax for a private vehicle in the Islands, your vehicle is covered for 15 years. Once that period is up, you'll need to renew your registration and pay a green tax to keep your vehicle legally on the road.
