      Road Tax in Maharashtra for Four-Wheelers

      Maharashtra road tax is calculated based on the ex-showroom price of private cars as mentioned in the table below:

      Road Tax in Maharashtra for Two-Wheelers and Three-Wheelers

      Maharashtra road tax is calculated based on the cubic capacity (CC) of a non-transport two-wheeler:

      How to Pay Maharashtra Road Tax Online?

      Maharashtra road tax can be paid via the Vahan 4.0 system using the following steps:

      • Visit the Parivahan Sewa portal.
      • Navigate to 'Online Services' in the 'Vehicle Related Services' section.
      • Select 'Maharashtra' as your state.
      • Enter your vehicle registration details and click 'Proceed'.
      • Select the 'Pay Your Tax' tab.
      • Complete the payment using the suggested payment modes.
      • Print the e-receipt for your reference.

      How to Pay Maharashtra Road Tax Offline?

      You can use the follolwing steps to pay the Maharashtra road tax offline:

      • Visit the local RTO (Regional Transport Office) where the vehicle is registered.
      • Obtain the tax declaration form.
      • Provide the required vehicle documents.
      • Pay the amount at the RTO cash counter.
      • Take the tax token/receipt that is stamped by the RTO officer.

      Penalties for Late or Non-Payment of Maharashtra Road Tax

      Authorised officers can seize the vehicle for which the Maharashtra road tax payment has not been paid for more than 30 days. In that case, the vehicle owner will have to make the road tax payment along with any applicable penalties to get their vehicle released.
