A Malaysian visa allows foreign visitors to enter and stay in Malaysia for their specified purpose for a certain time. The Malaysian government has allowed visa-free entry to Indians starting December 1, 2023, to December 31, 2026.

Indian citizens are eligible for a Malaysia visa on arrival if they are travelling from Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore or Malaysia. Indians need the following documents to get a Malaysia visa on arrival:

  • Valid visa of the country from which you are travelling
  • Booking confirmation of the return ticket to India
  • Should possess a minimum of USD 500 cash/debit/credit card/traveller's cheque

Malaysia eNTRI Visa

Electronic travel registration and information or eNTRI is one of the most popular Malaysia visas for Indians, Nepalese, Serbian, Bhutanese, Chinese and a few other nationalities used for tourism. Malaysia eNTRI visa can be applied for by Indian nationals planning to visit Malaysia for tourism for 15 days or less. It can be applied online at the eNTRI facility of the Malaysian Government.

Applicants for Malaysian eNTRI permits are issued an eNTRI Note as evidence of registration by the facility. The process takes a few minutes and it gets approved within 1-2 days. It is valid for a single entry but for a maximum of a 15-day stay in Malaysia. The eNTRI Note needs to be printed out and presented to the authorities upon arrival in Malaysia.
