About Malaysian Visa for Indians

A Malaysia visa is an authorisation that allows foreign visitors to enter and stay in Malaysia for a specified time. From December 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024, Indians can enter Malaysia visa free given that they meet the following requirements:

  • Must have an Indian passport with 6 months validity

  • Transit Visa: This allows foreign nationals to transit to another country from Malaysia's international transit areas. People who have a layover at the international airport of Malaysia can apply for this type of visa.
  • Student Visa: For people who want to travel to Malaysia for studying, people must meet the necessary Malaysia visa requirements for students.
  • Medical Visa: Malaysia Medical eVisa allows its holder to travel to Malaysia to receive medical treatment. It is granted to the people receiving treatment at a listed hospital by the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council or MHTC. People who wish to stay for more than 30 days should apply for a long-term Medical Pass after arriving in Malaysia.
  • Business Visa: Business visa for Malaysia visa that can be applied for by foreigners who want to visit Malaysia to attend business commitments. This type of visa allows its holders to attend business meetings, conferences, mergers, and acquisitions in Malaysia.

Malaysia Visa on Arrival for Indians

Indian citizens are eligible for a Malaysia visa on arrival if they are travelling from Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore or Malaysia. You will have to present the following documents to get a Malaysia visa on arrival for Indians:

  • Valid visa of the country from where they are travelling (Malaysia, Singapore or Indonesia)
  • Booking confirmation of return ticket back to India
  • Should possess a minimum of USD 500 cash/debit/credit card/traveller's cheque

Malaysia eNTRI Visa

This is one of the most popular Malaysia visas for Indians used for tourism. Malaysia eNTRI visa can be applied for by Indian nationals planning to visit Malaysia for tourism for 15 days or less. It can be applied online at the eNTRI facility of the Malaysian Government.

Applicants for Malaysian eNTRI visas are issued an eNTRI Note as evidence of registration by the facility. It is valid for a single entry but for a maximum of a 15-day stay in Malaysia. The eNTRI Note needs to be printed out and presented to the authorities upon arrival in Malaysia.
