Thailand offers many types of visas, such as tourist, business, or multiple-entry. You must choose the most suitable Thailand visa type depending on the duration and purpose of your visit. Read on to know all about the different Thailand visa types and fees for Indians.

Thailand e-Visa

As of 15 July 2024, Thailand has included India in the list of countries eligible for a visa on arrival. Indian tourists will receive their single-entry visa on arrival at the Thai immigration checkpoint after paying a fee of 2,000 TBH (approximately INR 5,450) if their trip duration is 15 days or less.

Thailand Non-Immigrant Visa Fee (Long Term Stay)

The Thailand non-immigrant long-stay visa has several categories, such as Category B (Business), Category ED (Education), Category RS (Research), etc. The visa fee for these categories varies according to their duration. The Thailand non-immigrant long-stay visa fees are listed here:

Thailand Tourist Visa

A Thailand tourist visa allows applicants to enjoy a holiday and/or meet up with their friends or family in the country. The visa fee for a Thailand tourist visa for Indians is as follows:

Note: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced a visa exemption policy for Indian tourists. This policy allows Indian citizens to holiday in Thailand for 60 days and also to extend their stay by an extra 30 days.

Thailand Transit Visa

There are 3 categories of Thailand transit visa that are issued to applicants for the following purposes:

  • Category TS (Transit): This visa is issued to applicants who need to transit through Thailand to reach their destination or their own country.
  • Category S (Sports): For applicants who are travelling to Thailand to participate in sports activities.
  • Category C (Conveyance): Issued to the crew/person-in-charge coming to a port, area, or station in Thailand.

How Much Does it Cost to Extend a Thailand Visa?

Indian tourists in Thailand can extend their visa for a maximum period of 7 days by submitting the TM7 application form, along with a photo and copies of their visa and passport. The cost of a Thailand tourist visa extension fee is 1900 Thai Baht (approximately INR 5,180).

Cancellation Charges for Thailand Visa

Thailand typically does not charge any extra amount for visa cancellation. However, your visa fee is non-refundable even if you choose to withdraw your Thailand e-visa application. If you applied for a Thailand visa through VFS Global, Thailand's official visa application centre in India, you might receive a refund of the service fees. You have to cancel the services at least three days before the visa appointment date.
