      Max Bupa Hospital Cash insurance provides coverage for miscellaneous expenses incurred by the insured during hospitalization. It supplements the regular health insurance policy to cover incidental hospitalization expenses, such as attendant lodging, nursing expenses, transportation cost, etc. and relieves the policyholder from the financial burden.

      Max Bupa Hospital Cash Policy Overview

      Max Bupa Health Assurance HospiCash cover provides a daily cash allowance to the insured for each day of hospitalization due to an illness or accident. If the insured is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), he/she will get double the daily hospital cash amount under the policy. In case dependent children are covered under the same policy, they will be paid 50% of the daily cash benefit amount opted by the policyholder during hospitalization.

      The Max Bupa Hospital Cash policy comes with a hospital cash amount of Rs 1000/2000/3000/ 4000 per day. It offers coverage for a maximum of 45 days per policy year. However, the insured should be hospitalized for at least 48 hours to activate the policy.

      The policyholder can also add CritiCare cover and AccidentCare cover to the HospiCash cover under the Max Bupa Health Assurance policy.

      • It provides a hospital cash amount for every day of hospitalization.

      • It requires at least 48 hours of continuous hospitalization.
      • It offers tax savings as per section 80D of the Income Tax Act on the insurance premium.

      The Max Bupa Health Assurance HospiCash policy comes with the following coverage:

      • Daily Hospital Cash Benefit - Offers a daily hospital cash benefit for each day of hospitalization
      • ICU Cash Benefit - Offers twice the hospital cash amount for a maximum of 7 days if admitted to the ICU

      Exclusions of Max Bupa Hospital Cash Policy

      The following medical expenses are not covered by the Max Bupa Hospital Cash policy:

      • Cosmetic, aesthetic or related treatments
      • Treatment for abuse of alcohol or other addictive substances
      • Non-allopathic treatment
      • Pregnancy and related complications
      • Artificial life maintenance
      • Dental treatment
      • Organ donor expenses
      • Weight reduction procedures
      • Hereditary and genetic disorders
