      To buy Niva Bupa (Formerly known as Max Bupa) Health Premia Family First plan, one can opt for the Individual option with assured sums in silver and platinum plans.  

      Some of the basic coverage offered by the policy are as follows:

      • In-patient Treatment -All hospital expenses like hospital room rent, boarding, nursing, doctor and nurse's fees, blood, oxygen expenses, etc., are covered.
      • Pre-hospitalization Cover-Pre hospitalization expenses are given up to 90 days till the date of admission to the hospital.
      • Post- hospitalization Cover-Post hospitalization expenses are incurred up to 180 days, starting from the date of discharge from the hospital for the same illness.
      • Organ Donor-Organ donor treatment plus organ transplant-related expenses are covered.
      • Daycare Treatment-Daycare treatment requiring less than 24 hours of hospitalization for dental, ENT, and other illnesses are covered.
      • AYUSH Treatment-Covers expenses for Ayurvedic, homeopathic, Siddha, Unani treatments.
      • Domiciliary Hospitalization-Domiciliary treatment or treatments taking place at home due to unavailability of rooms in the hospital or if the patient is not in a condition to be transferred to a hospital is covered. This will only happen if the medical practitioner prescribes it. 

      Inclusions of the Niva Bupa (Formerly known as Max Bupa) Health Premia Family First

      Niva Bupa (Formerly known as Max Bupa) Health Premia Family First policy includes the following under its list of coverage:

      Emergency Ambulance Charges-In case of a medical emergency, road ambulance charges for taking the insured person to the hospital or nursing home are covered.

      Critical Illness Benefit-Critical illness benefits are given to two individuals above the age of 18 years. The diseases that are covered are as follows:

      • Cancer
      • Open Heart surgery
      • Kidney Failure
      • Stroke

      The conditions arising due to the treatment of the diseases mentioned above are also covered in the Policy.

      Exclusions of the Niva Bupa (Formerly known as Max Bupa) Health Premia Family First

      Niva Bupa (Formerly known as Max Bupa) Health Premia Family First Policy does not cover the following diseases or conditions:

      • Investigation or evaluation of a particular disease or its appearance in the individual
      • Rest cure and rehabilitation
      • Treatment of obesity
      • Treatments and surgeries related to change of gender
      • Cosmetic surgery and plastic surgery
      • Sterility or infertility treatments
      • STDs, diseases related to HIV
      • Any unproven medical treatments
      • Breach of law

      Cancellation of the Policy

      The insured can cancel the policy within 15 days from the policy starting date, by sending a written request. The premium paid will be refunded on pro-rata basis.

      If the policyholder indulges in any kind of misrepresentation, hiding facts based on pre-existing diseases, and fraud, there are chances that the Insurer may cancel the policy contract.  A written notice will be sent to the policyholder in this regard before the Policy starts to cease.
