Ducati Hypermotard Insurance

Ducati Hypermotard

Ducati Hypermotard is the result of ‘cross-breeding’ at Ducati. It can perform the duties of Street bike as well as on/off road conditions. Ducati’s re-entry in the Indian market has brought this practical big bike to our shores & it definitely scores big in the style/practicality quotient.

Design:

  • Hypermotard looks lean & is a thin bike.
  • It gets a bikini fairing, hand guards which house LED turn indicators, a minimalistic head light in front & a ‘Beak’ in front.
  • The bike comes in one colour options Red.
  • Bike’s dimensions are 2110 mm x 890 mm x 1155 mm (L x W x H)

Power & Performance:

Hypermotard is powered by 821cc Testastretta 11° L-twin engine. The power delivery is brisk on with crisp response from the word go. The bike loves to be revved & there are no vibrations to speak of. It is a fast bike & most of the time it’s the road that ends before the acceleration of the bike. The bike gets 3 mode traction controls with Wet, Sport & Race mode. Wet reduces the power by almost 40%.

Braking & Handling:

With a wet curb weight of 194kg, Hypermotard is a light for its size. The bike handles like a tall street bike. You can carve corners on the mountains, ride fast on highways, cut through traffic you name it. With no shield or fairing to protect you however, you can feel the speeds first hand. Bike has 50mm upside down telescopic forks in the front & Ohlin’s mono shock absorber at the rear. It rides on 120/70 17’ front & 180/55 17’ rear wheels.

  • The seating position on Hypermotard is very comfortable with upright stance.
  • Hypermotard gets a Twin 320mm disc brakes in front & a single 245mm disc at the rear.
  • The bike gets ABS & Ducati Traction Control as standard.

What Insurance cover to opt for:

Hypermotard is a premium product brought in as a CBU from Ducati’s factory at Thailand & that makes it a costly bike to keep & maintain.

  • A premium product like this needs 0% depreciation insurance as it goes a long way in keeping the repair bills down in case of a fall.
  • It is a good idea to have an insurance that gives you complete cover from theft as a premium is a thief magnet.
  • Always prefer an insurance that gives you cashless benefit.
