Inclusions under Star Health Student Travel Protect Insurance

The following coverage is available under Star Health Student Travel Insurance policy:

  • Emergency Medical Expenses- It covers the medical expenses incurred while travelling along with the cost of medical evacuation and repatriation of mortal remains to India.
  • Dental Emergency Expenses- It covers the cost of availing dental treatment after an accident abroad.
  • Personal Liability- It covers any legal liability resulting from causing accidental bodily injuries or property damages to a third party while travelling.
  • Loss of Checked-in Baggage- It pays for the monetary losses incurred due to the loss of check-in baggage by the scheduled airline.
  • Personal Accident- It pays compensation in case of disability or death of the insured due to an accident abroad.
  • Loss of  Passport- It reimburses the charges to obtain a duplicate or new passport if the original is lost during the trip.
  • Bail Bond– If the insured is arrested/detained by the overseas police, the bail expenses would be reimbursed.
  • Study Interruption– In case the insured had to miss classes for being hospitalized for over one month, the insurer will reimburse the tuition fee for that
  • Sponsor Protection- In case of the death of the sponsor or an immediate family member, the tuition fee for the remaining part of the semester/course would be reimbursed.
  • Compassionate Visit– If the insured is hospitalized for more than seven consecutive days, the insurer will pay for the transportation expense of one immediate family member.

Exclusions under Star Health Student Travel Protect Insurance

Star Health Student Travel Protect Insurance policy does not cover the insured for the following:

  • Travelling against medical advice or to obtain medical treatment
  • Pre-existing condition or disease
  • Adventure sports, such as rock climbing, mountaineering, winter sports, skiing, etc.
  • Self-inflicted injuries or suicide
  • Mental disorder, anxiety or depression 
  • Intentional involvement in dangerous situations, except to save human life
  • Claims resulting from war, invasion, riot, civil war, nuclear activity,  
  • Pregnancy-related expenses
  • Claims due to breach of law with criminal intent
  • Treatment for addiction to alcohol or drugs
  • Treatment of HIV AIDS or venereal diseases
  • Congenital anomalies
