Digit On-The-Move Eligibility Criteria
Indians who plan to travel abroad can buy this Digit travel insurance policy to secure their trip. In case of multi-trip plans, it can be renewed up to age 99 years.
At the time of buying or renewing your policy, you must tell the insurer if you have any prior health conditions. Coverage for existing conditions (PED) requires an optional add-on and strict declaration and acceptance.
Digit On-The-Move Inclusions
It is important to know what your travel insurance policy covers. Here are some key coverages (inclusions) under this Digit On-the-move Policy for Indians travelling abroad:
- Emergency Medical Treatment: This benefit helps you pay for urgent hospital and medical bills if you get sick during your trip and need immediate treatment that requires hospitalisation to save your life or relieve severe pain.
- Medical Evacuation & Repatriation: The policy will also cover the costs of getting you home if a doctor says it's medically necessary because you are seriously ill and cannot use your return ticket. This is crucial because medical costs overseas can be very high.
- Repatriation of Remains: Sadly, if you pass away during your trip, the policy includes making the necessary arrangements and helping cover the cost to bring your body back to your place of residence. This is included within the emergency medical and accidental treatment covers.
- Daily Cash Allowance: If you are hospitalised for more than a certain number of days while on your trip, this coverage pays you a daily amount of money as per your policy schedule. This can help with small expenses while you are in the hospital.
- Loss of Passport: If your Indian passport is lost, stolen, or damaged while you are outside India, making it impossible to continue your trip or return home, this coverage will help you.
- Trip Cancellation: If you have to cancel your trip before it even starts due to specific reasons listed in the policy, then this Digit On the Move plan can help pay back non-refundable costs you already paid for travel and accommodation.
- Trip Abandonment: If something happens after your trip has started that forces you to end it early and return home, this coverage can help pay for additional travel costs. It can also cover some unused, non-refundable costs.
- Delay of Checked-in Baggage: If the airline temporarily loses your checked-in luggage while you are travelling for more than a specific number of hours, this Digit On the Move policy can provide a fixed amount to help you buy essential items.
- Total Loss of Checked-in Baggage: If your checked-in baggage is permanently lost by the airline, the policy will pay a portion of the covered amount shown in your schedule.
- Waiver of Pre-existing Disease: This is an optional benefit available at an extra premium. It offers coverage for existing medical conditions in case you face a related emergency abroad. You must declare any existing medical condition when buying the policy, and it must be listed as accepted on your policy schedule for claims related to that condition to be paid.
- Compassionate Family Visit: If you are hospitalised while you’re abroad and the treating doctor recommends assistance, the policy can help cover the cost for one of your immediate family members to visit you where you are hospitalised.
- Escort of Minor Children: If you are hospitalised or pass away and have minor children travelling with you who are unattended, this Digit On the Move policy can help reimburse the cost for a family member to escort them back home.
