    Entry Essentials to Turkey

    All Indian citizens who wish to travel to Turkey for any purpose must apply for a visa. Now, this can be easily done thanks to the online eVisa or visa on arrival facility after which they can stay in Turkey for 30 days, be it for tourism purposes or business-related work. However, this eVisa is only available for Indians who have a visa or residence permit of any of the following countries:

    • Any Schengen territory
    • US
    • UK
    • Ireland

    If you don't fulfill these requirements then you can apply for a traditional visa through the nearest Turkish Embassy/Consular. Please note that Turkey doesn’t provide visa-on-arrival facilities to Indians if they don’t meet the above requirements in terms of documentation. 

    Types of Turkey Visa for Indians

    There are many types of visas for Turkey made available for Indians. Other than the tourist eVisa, all of these can be obtained only through the diplomatic mission. These visas are briefly discussed below:

    • Tourist/ Business Visa: This visa is valid for up to 30 days and only for a single entry. Anyone going to Turkey with an intention to tour or for business-related activities can apply for this.
    • Transit Visa: This is only for those Indians who wish to leave the transit lounge of the airport in Turkey. It is not required if they decide to stay in the airport lounge.
    • Student/Education Visa:Applicable to any student going to Turkey to participate in a course, an exchange program, or any other educational purpose. Requires additional documents.
    • Working Visa: Any Indian seeking employment in Turkey needs to request this visa. applicable to academics, journalists, athletes, and other professionals.
    • Others:These are available to Indian nationals given they meet the exact purpose of travel. These include:

      • Seafarer purpose
      • Archaeological Excavation/ Exploration purpose

    Documents Required for Turkey Visa

    • A valid Indian passport with a validity of at least 5 more months after the date of arrival
