Care Explore Travel Insurance Eligibility Criteria
Indian travellers who want to buy this Care Travel Insurance policy must meet a few eligibility criteria:
- Your place of residence must be in India.
- For single-trip policies, the minimum entry age is 1 day.
- For Multi-trip policies, the minimum entry age is 1 day.
- The maximum entry age has no age bar.
- The person buying the policy (the Proposer) must be 18 Years or above.
- A Family option is available only for single-trip policies. It covers self, spouse, dependent children (under age 25), and parents for the same sum insured on an individual basis.

Medical Inclusions

- Treatment After Returning Home: If you need further inpatient treatment for the same illness or injury after you return to India, the policy can cover those expenses for up to 30 days after your original policy ends, provided the emergency happened during your trip.
- Pre-existing Diseases: This policy can cover treatment for pre-existing health conditions for life-threatening medical situations.
- Dental Treatment: Covers necessary dental treatment that can't wait until you get back home.
- Daily Hospital Allowance: This benefit provides a fixed amount per day for each day you are hospitalised for up to 5 consecutive days per claim.
- Repatriation of Mortal Remains: Covers the cost of transporting your body back to India if you pass away during your trip.
Non-Medical Inclusions
- Loss of Passport: Covers the expenses to get a duplicate or new passport if you lose yours while abroad.
- Trip Cancellation: This Care Explore travel insurance plan can reimburse non-refundable travel and accommodation expenses if you have to cancel your trip before it starts due to specific reasons.
- Trip Delay: Provides a fixed payment if your scheduled public transport (like a flight) is delayed for more than 4 hours due to severe weather, strikes, or equipment failure.
- Loss or Delay of Checked-In Baggage: The policy will cover you in case your checked-in luggage is lost by the airline. If your checked-in baggage is delayed for more than 12 hours, the policy pays a fixed amount.
- Personal Accident: Pays a lump sum amount if you suffer accidental death or permanent total disablement while travelling abroad.
- Automatic Trip Extension: The policy period can be automatically extended for up to 7 days in specific situations, such as your or your travelling companion’s overseas hospitalisation.
- Protection Against Visa Rejection: Available as an optional benefit, the policy can reimburse your visa fee if your visa is rejected, provided you met the application requirements.
- Personal Liability: Covers legal costs and expenses if you accidentally cause bodily injury or property damage to someone else during your trip.

Care Explore Travel Insurance Exclusions
Here are some general exclusions or situations that are generally not covered by this Care Explore travel insurance policy:
- Expenses due to Alcohol or Drug Use: This means if a loss happens because you used alcohol or drugs, the policy won't cover the costs.
- War and Nuclear Issues: This policy does not cover expenses or claims related to war, invasions, civil war, rebellion, or nuclear events like attacks or weapon use.
- Intentional Self-harm: If someone intentionally harms themselves or attempts suicide, related expenses are not covered.
- Illegal Acts: Claims are not admissible if they arise directly or indirectly from the insured person committing a breach of law with criminal intent. This also means that any personal liability claims because of breach of law won’t be covered.
- Medical Procedure that is not Urgent: The policy won't cover treatment overseas if it could reasonably be delayed until you are back in your country of residence.
- Pre-existing Illnesses: Treatment for conditions you had before the policy started is not covered. However, you can opt for the pre-existing diseases optional for life-threatening conditions.
- Routine Check-ups: Any regular physical test or exam not related to treating an illness or injury while on the trip is not covered.
- Dental Treatment: Routine dental work is not covered unless it's an emergency due to an injury or acute pain. Even then, pre-existing conditions, artificial teeth, and cosmetic procedures are excluded.
- Treatment Related to Pregnancy or Childbirth: Any treatment arising from or related to pregnancy, miscarriage (unless due to an accident), childbirth or other complications is generally not covered.
