China Visa Fees for Indians: FAQs

  • Q: Is the service fee for a Chinese Visa the same for a child?

Ans: Yes, the service fee remains the same, whether the child is an independent applicant or shares the same passport with the principal applicant.
  • Q: Does a child need to fill out a Chinese visa application form as well?

Ans: Yes, a child must fill out a Chinese visa application form as an independent applicant. However, it is not needed if the child has the same passport as the principal applicant. For example, in some cases, the child's details, such as photo, name, and date of birth, are endorsed/included within the parent's passport (usually the principal applicant) booklet rather than being issued their own separate document.
  • Q: Can I apply for a Chinese visa online?

Ans: No, the online facility to apply for a Chinese visa is not yet available. You need to submit your application with all the supporting documents to the China Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC).
  • Q: Is someone else permitted to submit my China visa application to the Visa Centre on my behalf?

Ans: No, you must visit the Visa Centre to hand in your China visa application and provide your fingerprints. However, if you are applying via a travel agency, they must confirm whether you are required to appear in person for the fingerprint submission. Applicants younger than 14 years or older than 70 years are exempt from the same requirement.
  • Q: How long should the remaining validity of my passport be when I apply for a China visa?

Ans: Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months when applying for a China visa.
  • Q: Do Indians Need a Visa to Visit China?

Ans: Yes, Indians must have a visa to visit China, irrespective of the purpose of their visit. You can apply for it at the China Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC). Please note that visa on arrival facility is currently not available for Indian passport holders in China.
