The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has rolled out a new digital pass for travelers all over the world. The new IATA Travel Pass is a mobile application offering a quick digital solution for travelers who need to present a variety of COVID-19 related documents.

These include the COVID-19 vaccination certificates, recovery proofs, and other test results which are necessary to be presented before the airport authorities. This mobile app will help save and manage a lot of time for both the authorities as well as travelers by providing a reliable platform to store all kinds of verified COVID-19 certifications.

As per a press release, IATA’s new mobile app will help passengers by informing them about the kind of tests, vaccines, and other travel guidelines required by the country they are traveling to. The app will also provide them details like where the users can get tested, as well as let them share their vaccination and test results. This will be done in a secure and verifiable manner without compromising their privacy, which will help encourage the governments to open their borders.

Thanks to secure verification, it will also help airlines in providing accurate information to their passengers with respect to tests and necessary travel requirements. This verified certificate will be recognized both nationally and internationally and will give the travelers access to accurate information related to test and other COVID-19 travel requirements.

The app consists of the following modules:

Registry of Health Requirements: This will let the travelers find required information related to their vaccine, travel, and testing requirements for their journey.
Registry of Testing and Vaccination Centers: This will assist passengers in finding verified testing and vaccination centers before or after their arrival.
Lab App: This will authorize medical labs and other testing facilities to issue the test results or vaccination certificates to the travelers.
Travel PASS App: Through this application, passengers can create a digital passport as well as confirm if their vaccination certificates/ tests meet the standards. It will also let the users share their results with the authorities.

This digital passport will provide a global standard for digital vaccination certifications and facilitate easier and quicker travel in a reliable manner.
