• High-level Visits: India and Slovakia have maintained friendly communications through high-level visits. Most recently, Slovak Foreign Minister Mr. Juraj Blanár came to India in March 2025 for the Raisina Dialogue.
• Trade: Bilateral trade between the two countries crossed EUR 1.28 billion in 2024, steadily rising from EUR 858.1 million in 2023 to EUR 711.9 million in 2022. India exports mobile phones, footwear, garments, motor vehicle parts, medicines, and electrical apparatus to Slovakia. Imports from Slovakia include motor vehicles, machinery, pumps, transmission shafts, measuring instruments, cables, and bearings.
• Cultural Relations: The two nations signed a Cultural Exchange Programme (2023-2026) on 4 March 2023. Veda Publications made a landmark initiative with the first-ever translation of the Upanishads from Sanskrit into Slovak, authored by Mr. Robert Gafrik. The 116th episode of Mann ki Baat by Prime Minister Narendra Modi also features this translation.
• Indian Community in Slovakia: The Indian community in Slovakia, including NRIs, OCIs, and students, is estimated at around 6,000 people. Approximately 300 Indian students are currently pursuing education in Slovak institutions.
