Eligibility Criteria

Adults between the age group of 18 and 65 years can be insured under Star Family Health Optima Insurance plan. Children from 16 days up to 25 years can be covered.

Inclusions of Star Health Insurance for Family

  • Sum insured option ranges from Rs 1 Lakh to Rs 25 Lakh
  • Minimum entry age is 18 years with lifetime renewal option
  • It is a family floater policy that offers coverage to parents and children including new-born baby cover
  • 30 days of initial waiting period from the policy inception date
  • In-patient hospitalization expenses are covered including Operation theatre charges
  • All the daycare treatments can be claimed
  • Organ donor transplantation charges are covered
  • Pre and post hospitalization expenses  to be reimbursed for 60 days and 90 days respectively
  • Domiciliary hospitalization expenses covered up to the sum assured limit after 3 days of treatment at home
  • Air ambulance cover is provided up to 10% of the basic sum insured for sum insured amount above Rs 5 Lakh
  • Add-on cover for Emergency Domestic Medical Evacuation, compassionate travel, Ayush treatment, and coverage for new-born baby cover

Exclusions of Star Health Insurance for Family

  • Pre-existing diseases are not covered until the completion of the waiting period of 48 months
  • Injury or illness arising out of war or nuclear radiations
  • Cosmetic surgery, surgery for changing sex, plastic surgery etc.
