    Karnataka Traffic Rules

    Keeping the increasing number of accidents and deaths due to road accidents in mind, the Government of India made an amendment in the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 on September 1, 2019. The amendment made by the government has changed the scenario of Karnataka’s traffic. The owners/drivers across the state of Karnataka do not forget to keep the necessary documents like RC, License, insurance with them while driving in their respective cities.

    Luckily people in Mysore, Bangalore, Hubli, and all the cities of the State of Karnataka were relieved when the revised fines came into effect the Karnataka government reduced the amount of these fines. Especially people who have two-wheelers took a breath of relief.

    Documents Required to Avoid Karanataka Traffic Challan

    As per the Karnataka traffic rules, all the owners/drivers have to carry these documents while driving/riding on the streets of Karnataka.

    • License
    • Registration Certificate
    • PUC (Pollution under control certificate)
    • Third-party liability insurance

    If any owner/driver is caught by the Karnataka traffic police without any of these documents, they will have to face a penalty that the Karnataka traffic police will issue against them.

    If any of the driver/owners violate any traffic rules of Karnataka then the traffic police will issue a challan as per the violation mentioned in the table above. If the owner or driver of any vehicle is caught violating any rule of Karnataka traffic by the cameras and speed sensors installed in the traffic signals and the side of the road then they will receive the challan at their registered address as well as on their emails.

    • Now you will see a button that reads Pay now
    • If you are not registered then click on create account
    • Once you create your account click on Register
    • Once you get registered with the Karnataka One website
    • Go to the Signup page and sign in
    • Now you will see the pending challans online
    • Click on the challan you want to pay
    • Make the payment through the payment gateway.
    • After the payment is done, you will receive the receipt.
    • You are done

    There are traffic rules that have to be followed and they are as follows:

    • Every driver/owner should carry the mandatory documents like license, RC, Insurance with them while driving/riding on the streets of Karnataka.
