Reliance Travel Care Policy Eligibility Criteria
This Reliance Travel Care Policy can be purchased by any Indian resident who is travelling abroad. It is available for those aged between 3 months and 90 years old. However, they should not be travelling for medical treatment or against the advice of their doctors.
Reliance Travel Care Policy Inclusions
- Emergency Medical Costs: If you suddenly get sick or injured while you're travelling outside India, the policy can help pay for necessary emergency medical treatment. This includes hospital stays and even the cost of bringing you back to India if it's medically needed.
- Emergency Dental Treatment: This policy also covers emergency dental treatment if you have acute pain while on your trip.
- Lost Passport: If you lose your passport while you're on your trip, the policy can reimburse you for the money you spend to get a replacement passport.
- Lost Checked Baggage: If the airline or carrier you're travelling with completely loses your checked-in bags, the policy can provide compensation.
- Delayed Checked Baggage: If your checked-in luggage is delayed for more than 12 hours, this policy can cover cost of essential items like toiletries or clothes.
- Trip Delays: If your trip is delayed for more than twelve hours due to specific reasons (like severe weather, illness, or airline issues), then this policy can reimburse you for extra expenses like meals and lodging.
- Trip Cancellation or Interruption: If your trip has to be cancelled before you leave India or cut short after you've started travelling, the policy will cover non-refundable costs or extra transport expenses. This is only applicable in case of certain unexpected reasons (Eg, a family member getting seriously sick or a sudden job loss)
- Missed Connecting Flights: If you miss a connecting flight because the first flight was delayed or cancelled due to specific reasons, then this policy will cover extra transportation costs, meals, etc.
- Home Burglary Insurance: This benefit covers loss or damage to your home contents due to burglary while you are on your insured trip.
Reliance Travel Care Policy Exclusions
Here are a few general exclusions under this Reliance Travel Care Policy:
- If you are taking part in any naval, military, or air force operations, you are not covered.
- Any claims that arise because you intentionally caused harm, committed a crime, or were drunk or using drugs will not be paid.
- The policy will not cover any events that happened before your insurance started or after it ended.
- Claims for pre-existing health problems or any issues related to them are not covered.
- If the main reason for your trip was to get medical treatment abroad, it will not be covered.
- If you travel against the advice of your doctor, any related claims will not be paid.
- The policy does not cover situations where you have a terminal illness that a doctor has already diagnosed.
- The policy excludes claims related to mental health disorders, anxiety, stress, depression, STDs, or illnesses related to HIV/AIDS.
- Any loss or damage caused by nuclear radiation or from nuclear weapons is not covered.
- Claims arising from training or participating in competitions as a professional or semi-professional sportsperson are excluded, unless you declared this beforehand and paid an extra premium.
