How PM-JAY works in Rajasthan ( Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana )

In Rajasthan, the Central Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) operated through an integrated state national framework known as Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana (MAAY). It was launched on 1 May 2021 with the purpose of providing health cover for all Rajasthan citizens. Unlike standard government health programs such as the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, and Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY), which are restricted solely to BPL or SECC-listed households, MAAY is accessible to every family in the state.

The scheme is administered through a unified digital network, the Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency (RSHAA), including Operations, beneficiary verification, and claims processing. While central PM-JAY provides ₹5 Lakh per family, Rajasthan supplements the program to offer up to ₹25 Lakh per family annually for cashless secondary and tertiary hospitalisation, along with ₹10 Lakh in accidental insurance.
