How PM-JAY works in the West Bengal

To ensure universal healthcare access, West Bengal adopts an integrated approach by combining the benefits of the central Ayushman Bharat scheme (PM-JAY) with its state-funded healthcare Scheme, Swasthya Sathi. Under this unified system, eligible residents access comprehensive medical coverage through a single Ayushman Card. The scheme is jointly governed by the national-level National Health Authority (NHA) and the local state health administration under the State Health Authority (SHA) / Swasthya Sathi Samiti.
