      Why Was Nirogi Haryana Introduced

Many low-income families often skip or delay routine health check-ups because of high costs, long travel distances to health centres, or simply not prioritising screening until they feel severely ill. As a result, manageable diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, anaemia, and early-stage cancers are often caught late, making them much harder and more expensive to treat.

To solve this problem, the state government started the Nirogi Haryana scheme for vulnerable (Antyodaya) families. Instead of waiting for patients to visit a clinic, mobile medical teams and healthcare workers go directly into local communities, schools, childcare centres (Anganwadis), slums, construction sites, and industrial areas. They conduct free health screenings right where people live and work, while saving the health data in a central system to track and manage diseases across the state.

Who is Eligible for Nirogi Haryana

      • Target Group: The scheme is intended only for those families that belong to the Antyodaya category in Haryana state. The scheme is not open to other individuals.
      • Identification: The beneficiaries would be identified automatically through the PPP (Parivar Pehchan Patra) of Haryana state.
      • Income Criteria: Those families who qualify as Antyodaya would be identified with the help of their verified income information present in their PPP, which generally would relate to the income criterion of ₹1.8 lakh annually.
      • No Need for Separate Registration: There would be no need for a separate application for registration and an income certificate, provided that the family details along with income information are updated correctly in the PPP portal.
      • Community Target Area: This scheme targets the children at schools and Anganwadis, and also the workers in hazardous occupational sectors such as construction sites, brick kilns, industrial areas and slums.

Who is Not Eligible for Nirogi Haryana

      • Those families which do not come under the Antyodaya category under the Haryana Family ID scheme do not come under the purview of this scheme.
      • Households with old or wrong Family ID details in terms of their income can face problems in getting recognised, even when their real situation is eligible under the scheme.
      • Beneficiaries seeking a check-up more frequently than once every two years outside the standard screening cycle are not covered for repeat screening within that window under the scheme's standard provision.

      What Nirogi Haryana Covers

Nirogi Haryana provides free, comprehensive health check-ups and targeted laboratory tests divided into six age groups, ensuring age-appropriate screening for every family member:

      Category Age Group Laboratory Investigations

Category 2 Above 6–59 months Hb (Haemoglobin)

Category 4 Above 18–40 years CBC, FBS/RBS, Serum cholesterol, Blood urea, Serum creatinine, Urine routine examination
Category 5 Above 40–60 years CBC, FBS/RBS, Serum cholesterol, Blood urea, Serum creatinine, Urine routine examination, TSH, PSA, VIA/PAP smear
Category 6 Over 60 years Same panel as Category 5
      • Full Body Examinations: Every individual, irrespective of age, goes through a full-body examination, along with the lab work-ups.
      • No Cost Services from Specialists and Treatments: In case of discovery of any disease, all subsequent services related to further testing and treatment are offered absolutely free by specialist doctors.
      • Special Queues for Quick Access: Poor families are offered special queues in health centres to register and get themselves examined without any long queues.
      • Bring Healthcare to Your Home: Health centres come directly to your community through mobile clinics. Specific campaigns for health examinations are also conducted at schools, nurseries (Anganwadi) and risky workplaces.

What Nirogi Haryana Does Not Cover

      • Demand-driven Screening or Frequent Screening: Screening demanded by the participants on their own or done frequently instead of once every two years.

      • Hospitalisation & Health Insurance: Cashless hospitalisation or coverage for pre-existing diseases. Nirogi Haryana is a strict prevention program and not a hospital insurance scheme like Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
