Why was the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana Introduced

Prior to the implementation of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana (DAYALU), poor families residing in Haryana did not have any sort of financial safety net during such circumstances as death or permanent disability of a family member.

To overcome this situation, the State of Haryana has come up with the DAYALU scheme, which is intended to provide instant and paperless financial assistance to poor families who earn less than ₹1.80 lakh per year. Using the database of Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) card holders, the DAYALU scheme offers financial aid in the range of ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh.
