Features of Care for Senior Citizen Health Plan

  • Care health insurance for senior citizens provide both individual and family floater heath cover
  • The sum insured or coverage amount options- Rs 3 Lakh, Rs 5 Lakh, Rs 7 Lakh, and Rs 10 Lakh
  • There is no requirement for pre-medical screening
  • Annual health check-up facility is provided to the insured persons
  • Automatic recharge of sum insured is provided
  • OPD cover is also provided
  • Facilities like 150% increase in sum insured with NCB Super is provided
  • The insured can avail tax benefits up to Rs 75000 on the premium paid under the Sec 80D of the Income Tax Act

Inclusions of Care for Senior Citizen Health Plan

The insured person can file a claim for the following expenses under this Care medical insurance plan for senior citizens:

  • Annual check-up Facility- Annual health check-up facility
  • Pre and post hospitalization expenses- Pre and post hospitalization expenses for 30 days and 60 days
  • Domiciliary hospitalization cover-Domiciliary hospitalization cover up to 10% of sum insured
  • Daycare procedures- 541 daycare procedures are covered
  • Alternative treatment cover-Alternative treatment cover up to Rs 15000-20,000
  • Organ Donor Expense Paid- On choosing the sum insured of Rs 3 lakh, the organ donor expense coverage limit is Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh on choosing a higher coverage amount
  • Sub-Limits- They are applicable to cataract surgery, total knee replacement, hernia, bone breakage, cancer, etc.
  • Add-ons- On paying an additional premium the PED waiting period can be reduced to 24 months from 48 months. Coverage for OPD expenses incurred on doctor consultations, investigation, and pharmacy tests can be paid as well. Moreover, on opting for No-claim-bonus super the sum insured amount can be increased by 50% to 100%.

Exclusions of Care for Senior Citizen Health Plan

The insurer is not liable to pay the following expenses under this health plan for senior citizens:

  • Expenses attributable to self-inflicted injury (resulting from suicide, attempted suicide)
  • Hospitalization related to pregnancy and childbirth, abortion, miscarriage, and related consequences
  • Expenses attributable to overdose or consumption of drugs, or alcohol
  • Infertility and in vitro fertilization treatment
  • Internal congenital disease
  • War, strike, riot, nuclear weapons induced medical cost
