Comprehensive EV Insurance Premium = (Own Damage Premium - (No Claim Bonus + discounts)) + Third Party Premium (fixed by IRDAI)

The IRDAI decides third-party EV insurance premiums, which are based on the EV's battery capacity and are as follows:

EV Battery Capacity Third Party Insurance Premiums (approx.)
    Below 30 kWh Rs. 1,780
Between 30 kWh and 65 kWh Rs. 2,904
    Above 65 kWh Rs. 6,712

*Disclaimer: (The prices mentioned above are set by IRDAI and may change based on recent updates and revisions. Always stay informed about these updates for the latest rates.)

How to File a Claim Under Digit EV Insurance?

    1. Inform the Digit General Insurance Company about the unfortunate incident.
    2. Register your claim with your insurer and receive a claim intimation number.
    3. Upon claim registration, the insurer will assign a surveyor to inspect the damages sustained by your EV and conduct a loss evaluation within 48 hours.
    4. Submit the required documents, such as the claim form and your ID & address proofs, to the surveyor.
    5. After verifying the documents, the insurer will settle the claim directly with the authorised network garage.
    6. In case of a non-network garage, the insurance company will reimburse the amount that you paid out-of-pocket for repairs.

To raise a third-party EV claim, also report the incident to the Police, and do not leave the accident scene. In case of major damage or injury to another individual caused by your insured EV, the claim will be settled through the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT).
