      Coverage Under Shriram Standalone Own Damage Car Insurance

      • Losses arising as a result of fire or explosion are included
      • Damages sustained by the insured car due to natural calamities like hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones, etc
      • Damages arising as a result of manmade acts like riots and strikes
      • Partial or total loss of the insured car due to theft or burglary is covered under the policy
      • Damages caused to the insured vehicle as a result of external means such as a collision
      • Accidental damage sustained by the insured car when the driver was not carrying a driving license is not covered under the four-wheeler insurance policy
      • Any accidental liability sustained by the insured vehicle outside the policy geographical area 
      • Claims arising out of any contractual liability are not covered
      • Accidental damage or loss arising as a result of nuclear or civil war

      How to Buy Shriram Standalone Own Damage Car Insurance Policy?

      A Shriram own damage car insurance policy can be purchased online from Simply visit the official website and follow the steps mentioned below:

      • From the homepage, select the ‘Car Insurance’ tab 
      • You will now be taken to a form where you will be required to enter your car number
      • Now choose your car’s RTO from the given list of dropdown
      • Select your car’s manufacturer, model, variant and registration year on the given pages
      • Fill in the given registration form with your name, email and contact number
      • From the given own damage car insurance plans, choose the Shriram OD insurance plan along with add-ons that you wish to include in your plan
      • Once you are satisfied with the coverage, you can pay the premium amount via desired online payment mode
      • After successful payment, your Shriram car insurance policy documents will be mailed to you.

      Documents Required to Raise Shriram Standalone Own Damage Claim

      To raise a claim with your insurance provider, inform them about the accident within the next 48 hours. The insurer will send a surveyor to assess the damages sustained by the insured car. Next, you must submit certain documents to the surveyor for claim verification. 

      These documents include the following:

      • Duly filled and signed own damage claim form
      • Copy of vehicle’s registration certificate
      • Copy of car insurance policy
      • Copy of Police FIR
      • Bills of repair
      • Estimates of repair
