What is Covered under Digit Third Party Car Insurance?
A Third Party Car Insurance policy by Digit Car Insurance provides coverage for third party liabilities arising out of the insured car due to an accident. It pays compensation to the affected third parties on behalf of the policyholder for causing accidental injuries and damages. Thus, it ensures that the policyholder drives peacefully and enjoys the ride without any stress.
Digit Third Party Car Insurance covers the policyholder against the following:
- Third Party Property Damages- It pays for any damages caused to the property of the third party by the insured car during an accident.
- Personal Damages to Third Party– It provides compensation to the third party victim who has been injured in an accident caused by the insured car. It also pays compensation in case the accident leads to the death or permanent disability of the third party victim.
- Third Party Vehicle Damages– It covers any accidental damages caused to the vehicle of the third party by the insured car.
- Personal Accident Cover– It provides personal accident cover of up to Rs 15 lakh to the owner-driver of the insured car if the accident results in death or disablement. But if the policyholder already has a personal accident cover, he/she does not have to buy it again.
While Go Digit General Insurance Company covers third party vehicle or property damages up to Rs 7.5 lakh, the compensation amount for personal damages to the third party will be as per the decision of the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal.
What is Not Covered under Digit Third Party Car Insurance?
The following adversities are not covered under a Digit Third Party Car Insurance policy:
- Own Damages- The policy will not cover any own damages to the insured car resulting due to an accident, natural calamities, fire, manmade calamities and car theft.
- Drunk Driving- If the insured car was being driven in a drunken state at the time of the accident, then the policy will not cover resultant third party liabilities.
- Driving Without a Valid License- The policy will also not cover third party liabilities arising out of the insured car if it was being driven without a valid driving license.
- Contractual Liability- The Digit Third Party Liability Car Insurance policy will not cover any claims arising out of contractual liability.
- Driving Without a Valid License Holder- If a learner’s license holder was driving the insured car without any valid driving license holder in the front seat, any accidental third party liabilities will not be covered.
- War and Nuclear Perils- The policy will not cover third party liabilities of the policyholder if the accident of the insured car was caused due to an act of war, civil war, military rebellion or nuclear weapons.
