      Documents Required for ICICI Lombard Car Insurance Claim

      To raise a motor insurance claim with ICICI Lombard, a policyholder will require the following documents:

      • Car insurance policy copy
      • Copy of vehicle's registration certificate
      • Copy of driving licence
      • Original claim form
      • FIR or police report (for TP and theft claims)
      • Repair estimate of Garage
      • Repair Invoice

      Types of ICICI Lombard Claim Settlement Process

      A policyholder can raise two types of ICICI Lombard car insurance claims. Both these types are mentioned below:

      1. Cashless Claim Settlement

        A cashless claim process, when opted for, allows a policyholder to raise a claim without having to pay for repairs from his/her pocket. Under this claim, the insured car is repaired at the insurer's authorised network garage, and the claim is settled directly with the garage.

      2. Reimbursement Claim Settlement

        On the other hand, if you cannot get your car repaired in a network garage, you can opt for a reimbursement claim. Under this claim, the policyholder is required to pay for repairs from his/her pocket. After the repairs, the insurance company reimburses the claim amount to the policyholder.

      How to File an ICICI Lombard Car Insurance Claim?

      Here is how a policyholder can fileICICI car insurance claims:

      1. Accidental Claims

        • Intimate the Insurer: First and foremost, inform the insurance provider about the damages sustained by the insured car.
        • Vehicle Inspection: Next up, a surveyor will be sent to inspect the vehicle and the damages. The insurer also gives the feature of self video claims via its app.
        • Documents Submission: You will now have to submit the mandatory documents required by your insurer.
        • Claim Settlement: The insured car will be sent to the network garage for repairs. Once the repairs are complete, the insurer will settle the claim with the network garage.
      2. Third-Party Claims

        • If your car has been involved in a third-party accident, file an FIR with the police immediately.
        • Raise a claim for it at the Moto Claims Tribunal. All TP claims are heard by the MACT.
        • Once the claim is registered, inform the insurance provide of the claim
        • The MACT will not hear your case and decide upon the compensation to be paid to the third party
        • The insurer will then settle the claim by paying the claim amount to the third party.
