      Documents Required for New India Assurance Car Insurance Claim

      The following documents are required to raise a claim under a New India Assurance motor insurance policy:

      • New India Assurance claim settlement form
      • Copy of Police FIR (in theft and third-party cases)
      • Copy of driver’s driving license
      • KYC
      • Bills of repair and estimates for repair (reimbursement claim)
      • Copy of vehicle’s RC
      • Copy of car insurance policy document

      Types of New India Assurance Claim Settlement Process

      The New India Assurance car insurance company offers two types of claim settlement processes to its customers. These include cashless and reimbursement claim processes:

      1. Cashless Claim Settlement Process

        The insurance company offers a cashless claim settlement process under which the claim is directly settled by the insurer. Under this type of claim, the policyholder gets his/her car repaired in a network garage. After the repairs, the insurer directly pays the repair amount to the garage, and the claim gets settled.

      2. Reimbursement Claim Settlement Process

        If a policyholder cannot access a network garage, he/she can get the insured car repaired in a non-network garage. This type of claim will be counted as a reimbursement claim, and the policyholder is required to pay for repairs from his/her pocket. After the repairs are complete, the policyholder can get the repair amount reimbursed from the insurer.

      How to File a New India Assurance Car Insurance Claim?

      Given below are steps on how to claim New India Assurance car insurance claim:

      1. Accidental Claim

        • New India Assurance Claim Intimation: Inform the insurer of the damage sustained by the insured car.
        • Submit Documents: The claim form, RC, and other mandatory documents need to be submitted to the insurer.
        • Vehicle Survey: A surveyor will be appointed to estimate the cost of damages sustained by the insured vehicle. The surveyor will submit his report to the company.
        • Repairs: The insured car will be taken to the network garage for repairs.
        • Claim Settled: After repairs, the insurer will directly settle the claim with the network garage. If it's a reimbursement claim, the insurer will reimburse you the claim amount after the repairs.
      2. Third Party Claim

        • For third-party damages, inform the insurer as soon as your car meets with an accident.
        • The insurer will forward the case to the Motor Act Claims Tribunal, which will give the final judgment.
        • The MACT will then decide upon the compensation to be paid to the third party. The insurer will then pay the claim amount to the third person, and the claim will be settled.
