      Documents Required for IFFCO Tokio Car Insurance Claim

      To file a claim, one will be required to submit certain documents to the insurer for verification purposes. Here is the list of documents required to file the IFFCO Tokio car insurance claim:

      • Duly filled IFFCO Tokio claim form
      • Original and copy of Driving License
      • Copy of Police FIR (for theft and third-party cases)
      • Estimates of repairs
      • Repair bills and payment receipts
      • Car's Registration Certificate
      • Proof of motor insurance copy
      • Required KYC documents
      • Acknowledged copy of a letter addressed to RTO (Total loss cases)

      Types of IFFCO Tokio Claim Settlement Process

      There are two types of car insurance claim settlement provided by IFFCO Tokio General Insurance Company. These include cashless claim settlement and reimbursement claim settlement.

      1. Cashless Claim Settlement

        If you don’t want to pay the cost of repairs from your pocket, you can opt for cashless claims. Under a cashless claim settlement process, you get the car repaired in an authorised network garage, and the claim is settled by the insurer. Thus, the claim becomes cashless for you as you are not required to pay anything to the insurer or the garage.

      2. Reimbursement Claim Settlement

        If you have opted to get your car repaired in a non-network garage, you will be eligible for a reimbursement claim process. Under a reimbursement claim, you are required to pay for repairs to a non-network garage from your pocket. The insurer then reimburses the claim amount after verifying the repair bills and payment receipts.

      How to File an IFFCO Tokio Car Insurance Claim?

      Accidental Claims

      • IFFCO Tokio Claim Intimation: Inform the insurer about the loss or damage immediately. As soon as the insurer receives claim intimation, the motor insurance claim will be registered.
      • Damage Assessment: The insurer will send a surveyor to inspect the damaged car to estimate the loss. If the loss is very high, a specialist surveyor will be sent.
      • Document Submission: Now, submit the documents required by the insurer for claim verification.
      • Claim Settlement: If the car has been repaired in a network garage, the insurer will directly settle the claim. However, if the repair has been done in a non-network garage, the insurer will reimburse the claim amount after the repairs.

      Third Party Claims

      • For accidents involving third parties, the first step would be to report it to the insurer.
      • The case will then be taken to the Motor Claims Tribunal Court. The court will then decide the compensation to be paid to the third person.
      • The insurer will pay the agreed compensation to the third party, and the claim will be settled.
