On the other hand, a third-party car insurance policy provides coverage against property as well as bodily damage caused to a third party by the insured vehicle.

      What is not Covered under Oriental Comprehensive Car Insurance Policy?

      Keep in mind the following events of exclusion while buying Oriental Comprehensive Car Insurance Policy:

      • Damage caused by an insured vehicle while the driver is under the influence of Drugs/Alcohol
      • Mechanical as well as an electronic breakdown of the vehicle
      • No valid driving license was available at the time of the accident
      • Damage caused due to general wear and tear and depreciation of the vehicle
      • Damage caused due to nuclear/terrorist/war/mutiny risks
      • Damage caused to the vehicle outside the geographical boundaries of India unless it is covered by paying the extra premium (Only applicable for Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal. Sri Lanka, and Maldives)
      • Damage caused to the tyres of the insured vehicle
      • Damage caused by the vehicle in the event of speed testing, racing, or in the case of safety trials

      Claim Settlement Process under Oriental Comprehensive Car Insurance Policy

      Follow these steps to make a quick and hassle-free claim with Oriental Insurance Company Ltd., in the case of an accident:

      Step 1: Raise a Request for the Claim

      Instantly inform Oriental Insurance Company about the accident by calling their toll-free number. You would need to send images of the damaged areas of your car to the insurance company using the registered email ID available in the policy document.

      Step 2: Inspection

      Once the request for the claim is registered, a surveyor will be sent by Oriental Insurance Company to examine inspect the damage. This is a mandatory step while claiming insurance.

      Step 3: Sending Car for Repair

      Once the inspection is complete, the damaged car can be sent to the nearest network garage of Oriental Insurance Company for cashless repairs. The company also offers towing services in this regard.

      Step 4: Claim Settlement 

      The car will then be repaired with the necessary replacements required if any. Oriental Insurance will settle the bill amount directly with their network garage

      Step 5: Payment for Deductibles

      Once the repairs are made, you would be required to pay for the deductible amount if you haven’t

      opted for any add-on covers. This amount includes the cost of consumables as well as the depreciation accrued on the car’s parts which are replaced. You can then take your vehicle home.
